This site’s primary purpose is to have a place to come for news on the popular asymmetrical 1 v 4 horror game, Identity V, developed by NetEase Games and published by Joker Studios. This site will also delve into the lore and some analysis as well which will be labelled appropriately from the more objective pieces that will be presented on this website.
This site came to be after some of us tried pitching to various gaming news outlets about the AI backlash of April 2026 when the IDV community had had enough of NetEase’s blatant and shameless use of AI in Identity V. However, despite the fact that NetEase and its more popular games like Marvel Rivals get media coverage quite extensively on Western media sites, Identity V gets none. Absolutely none, which baffled me. Unfortunately, while Identity V is incredibly popular in Asia, since its virtually unheard of in the West, it garners less interest and clicks.
Thus, GhostsoftheManor was born. The name was inspired by the fact that almost every IDV character has passed the threshold of Oletus manor to participate in a deadly game of desire. Most never leave. Yet, their stories and the little traces of memories they left behind remain to be found, like ghosts hiding in the shadows.
Greetings from SundaeNight
Hello and welcome fellow investigators or visitors who stumbled upon this site by chance. I’m SundaeNight, a gamer who loves to write a little TOO much on popular culture, but especially East Asian culture as I’ve had two blogs on Japanese games and anime along with a K-pop one. I’m currently trying to be my own freelance writer and journalist so please bear with me. As for IDV, I myself only entered the manor a year ago in April but quickly fall in love with the game through the lore (I finished Ashes of Memory and The Closing Night in ONE sitting the very first night I played the game).
I typically play survivor but I have dabbled in a bit of hunter as well. My favorite survivors (and ones I main terribly) are Fire Investigator and Journalist but I like to play a variety. Right now, I’m learning Painter, “Knight,” Puppeteer, “Faro Lady,” Patient and more. As for hunters, I tend to stick to “Fool’s Gold,” Night Watch, and “Hullabaloo.”
I’m personally not on a lot of socials but for more personal rambles about the game and my faves, you can catch me on Tumblr. I also have a YouTube and Twitch (currently on hiatus here but planning to come back soon).
