[Cryptic Notes Hunter Mode is now available!]
Basic Rules
- Enhanced Hunters in this mode with increased Stamina and Movement Speed.
- Added more Antique Cabinets and increased the chance of obtaining higher-value
Classics from them. - Added default weapons for Hunters. Weapons are placed in the bottom item slot by default and can be swapped with other item slots, but cannot be removed from the item bar.
- Adjusted the wind-up time, attack range, and recovery duration of some Hunters’ normal and Charged Attacks in this mode to maintain relative balance between characters.
• Allowed all items except weapons to be purchased and used. Special Classics, such as “Cursed Sapphire” and “Ghost Seal,” can also be used normally.
The new [Doppelganger]
In Hunter Mode, AI-controlled Doppelgangers will appear on the map and compete for Classics. Defeating a Doppelganger will cause it to drop all Classics it carries.
Triggered Terror Shock when hitting a Doppelganger that is opening an Antique Cabinet or vaulting over a pallet, dealing additional damage.
Added trailing effects to Doppelgangers based on the quality of the Classics they possess.
The higher the quality, the longer the trailing effect lasts.
Added a special effect that reveals a Doppelganger’s position while it is opening an Antique Cabinet, and added special footprints after it opens one.
- Allowed Cryptic Notes tasks to be completed normally in this mode.
- Added separate control customization settings for this mode, which visitors can adjust as needed.
- Only (Normall and (Hard) difficulties are available for now.
- Supports solo and co-op play.
Abilities
In this mode, there’s no need to choose a class. You can equip different character abilities.
Currently, only the “Undead’s” ability is available:
Active Ability: Use “Undead’s” ability to dash forward in a straight line. Hitting a target deals damage. The dash ends when you hit an obstacle or reach maximum range.
Passive Ability 1: Encumbrance is less effective.
Passive Ability 2: Defeating an Anomaly recovers a certain amount of Health.
Added a new Active Trait mechanic that only takes effect in Hunter Mode.
In Hunter Mode, you can bring an additional Active Trait into the match.
There are 3 Active Traits to choose from:
- Assault: Throws a mysterious manuscript that damages and stuns any target it hits.
- Tracking: Detects and guides you to nearby Classics and Containers, while also revealing the outlines of nearby Anomalies within a small area.
- Reveal: Reveals the outlines of all Doppelgangers within 36 meters for 10 seconds.
How to Enter
- Required completion of “The Bloody Night” in A Bringer of Doom to unlock Hunter
Mode. - Granted 7 free Hunter Mode entries each week. Remaining entries reset every Monday at 00:00.
- Spending different amounts of [Addendum] lets you enter Hunter Mode at different difficulty levels.
- Added a new Classic: [Addendum].
A loose page pulled from a journal, its edges slightly frayed. The Siren’s Song symbol on the paper reads like a candid statement. It belongs to no known story and exists only to offer an entirely new perspective.
Worth 10,000 Ink Trace, weighed 7 kg, and allowed up to 2 to be stacked in a single Classics slot during a match and up to 999 in Storage.
This Classic can be obtained in Survivor Mode.
